Well, i'd like to tell u something about your et and how to get better in it. As somebody posted a screenshot here (idk who, but that doesn't matter) i saw few things, which i'd like u to change.
First thing is cg_fov. Deafult is 90, that means that angle of your sight is 90 degrees, normal for games and normal aswell for human eye. But do u think that it's really the best? When u got 90 it's easier to aim on somebody who's faaar away, but on the other hand, that doesn't happen so much. For example i'm using 110, for the first time it could look awfull, but believe me u will get used to it very soon and it's really better for short distance. U can change it anytime, just write in console /cg_fov 110 or w.e. u want.
Next thing is crosshair, well, the best one is just lil dot. Nothing more nothing less. Really the best one for aiming.
Crosshair pulsing is useless, and do NOT forget to disable any blood!! If u got all those blood effects on, then when somebody is shooting u, u can't see a thing. U can try this in your cfg.
seta cg_crosshairColor "red"
seta cg_crosshaircoloralt "red"
seta cg_crosshaircoloralpha "1.0"
seta cg_crosshaircoloralphaalt "1.0"
seta mv_sensitivity "20"
seta cg_crosshairPulse "0"
seta cg_bloodflash "0"
seta cg_drawCrosshair "2"
seta cg_crosshairSize "33"
For those who got really slow PC (like me), it's necessary to disable any other effects, and ofc rate, maxpackets, etc. as follows:
seta r_inGameVideo "0"
seta r_highQualityVideo "0"
seta snaps "20"
seta com_maxfps "75" (depends on your monitor, i got 75Hz)
seta cl_timenudge "0"
seta cg_atmosphericeffects "0"
seta r_highQualityVideo "0"
seta r_inGameVideo "0"
seta r_picmip2 "3"
seta r_picmip "3"
seta r_detailtextures "0"
seta r_colorbits "16"
seta r_texturebits "16"
seta r_wolffog "1"
seta r_DrawFoliage "0"
seta con_debug "0"
seta cl_maxpackets "100"
seta pmove_fixed "1"
seta cl_packetdup "1"
seta rate "25000" (or more)
Well, good luck in fragging!
